Extract Domains from Emails & URLs

Pull clean domains out of an email or URL column — and flag free-mail addresses — for routing and enrichment prep.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded — close the tab and it's gone.

The column every routing rule wants

Lead routing, account matching, and enrichment all key off the company domain — but exports give you full email addresses and messy URLs instead. This pulls a clean domain out of either, marks the free-mail providers that signal a personal address, and gives you the unique-domain roll-up that shows which companies a list actually contains.

From domains to clean accounts

A domain column is step one; the next problems are the duplicates and variants hiding behind it — three spellings of the same company, two records for the same person. That's what CleanSmart's full pass handles, from SmartMatch dedupe to LogicGuard validation. Meanwhile the company normalizer and CSV dedupe tools cover the free slice of each.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly gets extracted?

From an email, the part after the @. From a URL or bare web address, the hostname — with the scheme, path, port, and a leading www. stripped. Values that don't contain anything domain-like are left blank rather than guessed.

Why flag free-mail domains?

A gmail.com or yahoo.com address tells you about a person, not a company — routing rules, lead scoring, and account matching usually treat them differently. The Free Email column marks them so your downstream steps can.

What's in the unique-domains download?

Every distinct domain found, how many rows it appears in, and whether it's a free-mail provider — sorted by count. It's the file you hand to enrichment or use to spot which companies dominate a list.

Is my list uploaded anywhere?

No — extraction happens in your browser tab. The first 5,000 rows are processed; larger files keep their remaining rows unchanged in the download.
