Connect HubSpot to CleanSmart
Connect HubSpot to CleanSmart and import your contacts and companies in a few clicks. This guide walks through the full setup, from generating an access token to refreshing your data.
What You'll Need
- A CleanSmart account with admin access
- A HubSpot account
- A HubSpot Private App Access Token
- About 5 to 10 minutes
Step 1: Open the HubSpot Integration in CleanSmart
Find the HubSpot card in CleanSmart's integrations. Click Connect to expand the card and reveal the access token field.

Step 2: Enter Your HubSpot Access Token
Paste your HubSpot Private App Access Token into the field. Need help generating one? Click the information icon for step-by-step instructions.

Step 3: Confirm the Connection
Click Connect again. A green confirmation message means the secure connection is live.

Step 4: Import Your HubSpot Data
Click Import next to the object you want to bring in, like Companies or Contacts. The records appear in that object's section once the import finishes.

Step 5: Refresh When You Need Fresh Data
Click Refresh next to HubSpot Objects to pull the latest records from your account.

Tips and Best Practices
- Refresh before any major cleaning run so you're working with current data.
- Use the information icon if you forget how to generate a Private App Access Token.
- Double-check the token for stray spaces. That's the most common reason connections fail.
Troubleshooting
The connection won't go through
Check the access token for typos or hidden whitespace. Confirm the token is still active in your HubSpot account.
The Import button isn't doing anything
Make sure the connection is still active. Re-enter the token if needed and check your network.
Summary
Your HubSpot account is connected and your records are in CleanSmart, ready for SmartMatch, AutoFormat, SmartFill, and LogicGuard to do their work.
