Connect Mailchimp to CleanSmart

Connect your Shopify store to CleanSmart and clean up your customer records in one pass. This guide walks through the integration, the field mapping, and how to manage your data once it's imported.

What You'll Need

  • A Shopify store with admin access
  • A CleanSmart account
  • About 5 to 10 minutes

Step 1: Start the Shopify Connection

Click Connect on the Shopify card in CleanSmart. The card expands so you can enter your store domain.

Step 2: Enter Your Store Domain

Click into the Store Domain field and type your Shopify store's domain. Get this one right. Typos here are the most common reason connections fail.

Step 3: Install on Shopify

Click Install on Shopify. You'll be redirected to Shopify to authorize the integration, then sent back to the Import & Sync page. A green confirmation means the connection is live.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Double-check your store domain before clicking Install. It saves a round trip to Shopify support.
  • Review your mapped fields before running a clean. Bad mapping leads to bad results.
  • Use Clear All carefully. It removes imported data and there's no undo.

Troubleshooting

My Shopify store won't connect

Check the store domain for typos and make sure you're using an account with admin privileges. Confirm your network is stable, then try again.

Field mapping failed

Go back to the Map Data step and confirm each field is lined up correctly. If it still won't go through, contact CleanSmart support.

Summary

Your Shopify store is connected, your customer fields are mapped, and your records are ready for cleaning. From here, run SmartMatch, AutoFormat, SmartFill, and LogicGuard in one pass to get a unified view of your customers.
