One company, five spellings
Account lists accumulate spelling drift: someone types ACME Inc, an import adds Acme, Inc., a form submits acme incorporated. Reports then split one customer's revenue across three "companies". This tool tidies every name (spacing, punctuation, legal suffixes) and groups spellings that differ only cosmetically, unifying each group to its most common form — with a report of every merge so nothing happens silently.
The variants this can't see
Text comparison can't know that Acme and Acme Industrial — or IBM and International Business Machines — are the same account. Grouping those takes semantic matching: that's SmartMatch, which is why it's the paid half of this job. Run a free CleanSmart check to see what it finds in your account list, or dedupe the rows once the names agree.
